I did something very bad……

Since next week is a very busy time for all of us and we’ll be in Florida, busy stalking Eeyore and Mickey Mouse, we decided that perhaps we’d start Checkmate for Charity early.

If you want to earn your copy of Checkmate with a good deed, please write on a sign and stick it in the picture of your good deed. It must say, “Checkmate for Charity-Pay it Forward”

Your good deed has to be a real good deed. Not flipping off your annoying neighbor does not count, lol. Donate food, blankets, blood, volunteer somewhere, etc. Those are great good deeds. SendΒ the picture and description of your good deed to rlmathewson25@gmail.com

If Checkmate for Charity is just not your thing you can get Checkmate: A Neighbor from Hell right now @ Smashwords.comΒ  for $2.99. The book is available at iBooks, Amazon, B&N.

A special thank you to iBooks for helping us get the book published so quickly πŸ™‚

Hope you enjoy the book πŸ™‚

P.S. Sorry about quick note. Afraid of losing power soon.

  3. Nancy Lee says:

Can’t wait to read it! I’m buying it tomorrow and will enjoy reading it, sitting all cozy in my house while Sandy rages outside. Everything is shut down tomorrow (DC area) and this is the perfect rainy day read! Thanks.

  4. Elise says:

OMG I can’t wait to read it but I have to wait a couple of weeks so that it comes out in iBooks πŸ™ but I’m still soooo excited!!!!!!!

  5. Laurie says:

Love the whole Checkmate for Charity idea. Our family volunteers and donates often. With the aftermath of Sandy, much is needed right now. I plan on doing as much as I can where I can. I don’t feel right doing something I normally do to get a free book so I purchased it on my own. You are an awesome writer and an even better person with a beautiful heart. Thank you again for sharing your stories with the world! =)

  6. Alina Giraldo says:

I live in Colombia, so sorry I can’t help your charity. Too bad.
But I’ve been waiting for this book for sooo long!!!!
The only problem is that I can’t find it in amazon yet!!! Why!!!
    I love your books.

  7. Shelly says:

Just started reading the book……….loving it so far but I’m curious as to why you changed the hero’s name? There was a sneak peak of the beginning of this book in the last NFH book and the hero’s name was Shia. I really liked that name so I’m curious as to why it was changed to Conner?

  8. Aly says:

I just finished it and love it!! Amazing job! I didn’t know you were a hot cocoa addict.. I see where Rory got her little addiction from. πŸ˜›
As for Rory and Connor, I love them just as much as I loved the Bradfords! I think it’s truly generous of you to donate to charity. I won’t even care if you increase the price of the ebooks up to to $4+ because I know you totally deserve it. Your books are worth every damn cent!

  9. Justine says:

I read it and loved it!!! I love all your books and have read them all and Checkmate did not let me down. NFH is probably my favorite series and I love Rory and Conner:) Also, Im glad you changed Shia to Conner. I read the sneak peek of Checkmate after reading Perfection. I really did not like the name Shia and the way it flowed while reading it. Conner gets two thumbs up:) Now bring on the next book! lol

  13. Sam says:

Well I just finished Checkmate. Another amazing book! Loved Connor and Rory (this was Connor’s story through and through).

Cracking return of Jason, Trevor, Hayley and Zoe also.

Please don’t leave this series now! You have left the door open for the James brothers and maybe Andrew??

Thank you for writing a wonderful, emotional and funny sexy book!
    πŸ™‚ xx

Please god change the mistakes in Checkmate (i.e. dotting when you mean doting, dot when you mean dote) it drives me crazy that such a fantastic book is interrupted with mistakes, typos are fine in moderation, but entirely wrong words make you look bad & open you up to bad reviews by the pernickity on amazon etc and I would HATE for that to happen as your books are so fantastic. Sack your proof-reader!!

      • R.L. Mathewson says:

Sorry! I got it. Jodi was nice enough to make a very long list of my mistakes. I fixed them. You should be able to redownload for free the correct ones at B&N, Amazon and the others probably in a week. Not sure where you got your copy from. Again, sorry!

        • Sam says:

My copy from Amazon had no mistakes. And the review that followed was gushing in praise. Ty again for such a lovely book.

  14. Vicky says:

First I have to say I think you have a wicked sense of humour, I’ve only read one of your books so far
Soon as I found out Perfection was the second in the series and finished it in one sitting I brought Playing for keeps…..
To be honest I can’t wait to read all your books, I tried to leave a comment on iBooks but for the life of me couldn’t get it to work, hence me googling you.
Ime too into your first book to browse here ATM,sorry. Your checkmate for charity only clarifies you in my books!!!!
Hope you are having an awesome time or had an awesome time in Disney world. I have been there twice with my hub and boys, ten years ago now…..omg time flies

I thought I was quick witted till I read your book, you rule!!!!!!

From a 43 year old who loves her old spice hub who works construction and only comes home weekends……..and two cracking boys who are in their 20s and still living at home, making bedroom noises hard to lisern to from them when I have to stick a sock in my mouth if you get my drift

    • R.L. Mathewson says:

      Lol, Vicky,

I’m glad that you enjoyed Perfection πŸ™‚ We had a great time in DisneyWorld. It was a lot of fun and I am already planning on taking them there again πŸ™‚ I’m not even going to touch the sock comment, lol. Thank you again, Vicky πŸ™‚

  15. Lucy says:

I love all your books but had resigned myself to waiting until iBooks sorted themselves out and Checkmate to only be available in a few weeks. I was so happy to see it in store the other day, bought it and read it straight away! Thank you for continuing to put out such fantastic books, whatever the series I know that I’m going to get a great read.

  16. Brownie says:

wow! three in the top 100 on Amazon and TWO in the top 20. Though why ALL of them didn’t make it at the same time. Hopefully, being in the best selling list makes this whole endeavor more profitable for you so you will KEEP on writing for us. Enjoy Florida!

  17. Sienna says:

Hey sorry to bother you but I was just wondering if there has been any development on the new pyte senitinal series. Hope your having fun x

  18. Gabriela says:

Honestly I can’t even begin to explain how much I loved this book. I literally screamed when I read the part with the Bradfords. You’re an amazing writer and I will continue to stay a huge fan of yours. Also on another note, I’m reading the first book over again and I just realized that Trevor was mentioned at the family gathering where Haley meets Jason’s parents for the first time. I had the biggest grin on my face like the biggest dork when I read his part. XD
