“Are you feeling better?” came the hesitant question from the other side of the bathroom door.
“Yes,” Haley mumbled sadly only to sniffle as she hugged the large folded towel in her arms against her chest.
That was followed by releasing a shuddering breath, another sniffle, and a small, barely noticeable sob that had her biting back a groan because this was getting ridiculous. She had no idea why she was crying or how to stop it. She wasn’t upset or sad, not after she’d managed to spend the day tormenting her husband, Haley thought as a smile began to play on her lips only to end on a sob.
